The Originally Blessed project is a book of essays, poetry, interviews artwork and more,in response to, and celebration of Matthew Fox's Original Blessing.

Original Blessing is one of about 30 books written by Matthew Fox, Ph.D.
Although not his first book, it is regarded as his seminal work on Creation Spirituality.  The book is actually subtitled: "A Primer in Creation Spirituality, in Twenty-Six Themes, Four Paths, and Two Questions."  As a primer, it established language and ideas that Fox and many others have built on in the quarter-century since first publication.

Fox's work has always featured an invitation and insistence that his students, readers, and peers have as much to say on the ideas he writes about as he does.   The quote at the top of these web pages, from Original Blessing's introduction, is a case in point.

This project embraces Fox's trust, and takes it seriously.

It was conceived and is coordinated by Matthew Henry, and
has the interest and best wishes of Matthew Fox, who has graciously contributed a preface.
Matt Henry lives with his wife and two daughters on a small farm in the Nambucca Valley, on the east coast of Australia. His work has included teaching, youth work, web technologies, and conference leadership. As a songwriter, Matt has a cult following (i.e. small and financially inconsequential).  Matt obtained a Doctorate in Ministry from the University of Creation Spirituality, and has assisted Matthew Fox in teaching and with research writing. He is a board member of Creation Spirituality Communities, Inc.
"Matthew Fox might well be the most
creative, the most comprehensive, surely
the most challenging religious-spiritual
teacher in America. He has the
scholarship, the imagination, the courage,
the writing skill to fulfill this role at a time
when the more official Christian theological traditions
are having difficulty in establishing any vital contact with
either the spiritual possibilities of the present or with
their own most creative spiritual traditions of the past."

- Fr. Thomas Berry, author of "The Great Work,"
"The Dream of the Earth," and others.
